Stanford
University is hosting the 3rd annual Polar Technology
Conference on the 26th (Thu) & 27th (Fri) of April
2007 at Building G - Main Conference Room, SRI International
in Menlo Park, California, USA. The primary purpose of
this conference is to bring together polar scientists
and technology groups for a planned technology development
and to explain, discuss various technology issues they
face during their projects.
Stanford University's Space Systems Design Laboratory
(SSDL), has been for several years, assisting polar researchers
and commercial operators, build and deploy weather stations,
satellite subsystems, remote communication, telemetry,
robotics and extreme environment engineering systems.
For participants sharing such technology solutions, discussing
issues faced while developing extreme engineering systems
is also one of the goals of this meeting. Participants
being invited are from the private sector, state and federal
agencies, non governmental organizations, and academia.
Please register online if you plan to attend. We invite
presentations, specifically focusing in the area of telescience
& remote sensing. The final agenda, and 2007 list
of participants and the topics they will be presenting,
will be posted soon. Last year's (2006) list of participants
is listed here. Accomodation is available near the conference
center. Click here for hotel information. And click here
for directions to the Building G - Main Conference Room,
SRI International, where the conference will be held.
SSDL can also assist in travel planning. Please contact
Prof. Robert Twiggs or Roy Stehle for additional information.
