Australis is an hour long HD film about a small group of skiers who sail the infamous Drake Passage, from Argentina to Antarctica, on a 23-meter boat in search of unclimbed summits and first descents. Australis tells the story of Chris Davenport, Stian Hagen, and Andrea Binning who venture to the bottom of the world in search of the ski lines of their dreams, pushing the boundaries of the sport into one of hte world's last great pristine mountain ranges: the Antarctic Peninsula.
Chris Davenport is considered one of the world's most accomplished big-mountain skiers. He is an avid mountaineer with ascents of summits around the globe. He is also an author of a book, regular contributor to ski publications and he has been featured in over twenty feature ski films, including Warren Miller and Matchstick Productions.
Adventure photographer Jim Surrette was the man behind the lens on Australis. From Mt Everest to Borneo, Jim has operated cameras in the world's most extreme environments, keeping up with world class athletes and adventurers to get his shots.
