Add this continental high point to your collection; whether you are a Antarctic traveler, aficionado, or just looking for a unique gift.

Solid pewter replica marker measures 3-1/4"d x 3/16"thick.

Mount Vinson is the highest summit in Antarctica, measuring in at 16, 067 feet (4898 meters). Similar to the U.S. Geological Survey markers found at the summit of thousands of mountaintops, this high quality pewter replica has the following text on it, " Continental High Point Benchmark", "Summit of Antarctica, Vinson, Elevation 4898m".

Mount Vinson was named after Carl G. Vinson, a US Congressman who convinced the US Government to support the exploration of Antarctica in the 20th century. It was first climbed by a US expedition in December of 1966. To date just over 1000 people have actually summited this remote peak.

Marker replica comes with felt backing to prevent tabletop scratches as well as an acrylic stand and a velour pouch as well.
