The Little Penguin is the smallest species of penguin, growing only to an average of 12-15 inches. The Australians call them Fairy Penguin because they are so petite. Their slate-blue plumage has earned them the name Little Blue Penguin in New Zealand, or Korora in the native Maori tongue. They spend the entire day at sea, swimming and hunting.
