We are pleased to bring you this series of Antarctic collectibles. These colorful dollar bills are unique and beautiful. The bills are not legal tender money of Antarctica or anywhere else, but they are honored for their face value throughout their validity period.
The bills are printed by the British American Banknote Co., using four color lithography with numerous security features.
The two-dollar bill features a bust of James Clark Ross seemingly looking at the edge of the Antarctic continent on the front. The islands of New Zealand are featured on the back with the portion of Antarctica claimed as the Ross Dependency.
Approximate size = 3.25 x 6.25 inches (8.2 x 15.9 c)
Only a limited amount of these bills have been printed which makes them a valuable collector’s item.
